The original diva. Love her or hate her, Sunny started the trend.
What’s particularly interesting about Sunny is that she did so without the massively obvious implants that her immediate successors- Sable, Terri, Debra, etc.- did, leaving many to believe for numerous years that she was real. Known for her insane levels of jealousy and a self-confessed bitch, Sunny’s natural heel tendencies made her a benchmark in WWE history that one might argue still hasn’t been crossed to this date. As Jim Cornette once put it: “Here was a girl- the only girl I knew at time time- with the charisma and talent to be a heel.” It was that same pitch which got Sunny hired in WWE.

During the 1996 Survivor Series, Sunny did special guest commentary on an elimination match (The Rock’s WWE debut, for anyone interested) involving Marc Mero, who was managed by his real-life wife Sable. Sunny savagely rips into Sable throughout the match, her nuclear levels of jealousy apparent for all to see.
